Iron Mountain

Description: Participants need to pre-register with the leader (call 503-428-3016) and be fully vaccinated and boosted. Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Walking poles and good boots are recommended. This is a challenging but rewarding hike. We will depart from Salem at 8:00 a.m. meeting at a central location TBA. We will take the Cone Peak Trail which climbs steadily through old-growth forest and seeing many wildflowers that will be at their peak. At the top are beautiful views.

Pace: Moderate

Hiking Distance: 8 miles
Elevation Gain: 1800 feet.

Qualifying Activity: Yes

Driving Distance: 85 miles RT.
