Santiam Wagon Road
We will hike the eastern portion of the road. This starts near Clear Lake and Fish Lake Guard Station on The McKenzie Hwy near the junction with Hwy 20. I hiked this now trail many years ago and one of the hikers was an older person who remembered riding in rumble seat of her parents car as it traversed the road. What is now Hwy 20 was made in the early 1930's and did not follow the wagon road. Great hike through Forest. We should see some Cascade peaks. We could also view the Fish Lake Guard Station nearby and stop at the Clear Lake Lodge for something good to eat or drink.
