Olga's Outcropping Snowshoe

This is the annual trip to Olga's Outcropping, a breathtaking view of Mt. Jefferson and surrounding foothills.  The trail starts at Scar Mt. Road and has a gentle steady grade.  The plan is subject to change depending on weather.

Difficulty:  Medium 

Driving distance:  150miles RT.

Hiking distance:  6 miles RT.

Elevation gain:  700 feet.

Pace:  Moderate

The trip leader is the event coordinator. The Trip Leader has the final say over who may participate in the event.

Due to the extra effort involved with wearing snowshoes and walking through snow, the ratings for snowshoe trips are different than hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 500 feet
MEDIUM: 5-7 miles round trip, 500-1000 feet elevation gain
HARD: Over 1000 feet elevation gain, over 7 miles round trip
