Marys Peak Sunset
Have you ever wanted to watch a sunset from a mountain? This is a spectacular opportunity! We will be leaving the parking lot at 6pm, drive to Connors Camp and climb the East Ridge trail to the general parking lot to get great views of the mountains looking east - St Helen's, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, Mt Washington, and the Three Sisters. We will then head up to the Summit and find a comfy place to sit and watch the sunset with ocean views. Bring a late night snack, hot drink, a camera for great photos and sit back and relax. Sunset will be at about 9pm then we will pack up and head down the way we came up but in the dark. A headlamp is required and good sturdy boots are important. Poles may be useful, water, bug spray and something warm to put on. It is always 10-20 degrees cooler than in the valley and at this point we have lost the sun. I will change the hike to a day-time event if visibility is poor or if there is rain and/or wind. PRE REG W/LDR by phone.
