Opal Creek and Jawbone Flats Loop Hike

This classic hike in the Opal Creek area features old-growth forest, multiple waterfalls, an amazing bridge or two, a dazzling pool, and a wilderness village in the historic mining town of Jawbone Flats in the Opal Creek Wilderness Area. At many points along the way we will pause to comment on interesting remnants of an old mining operation started in the 1930’s.  The hike is along the Little North Santiam River and several tributary creeks including Opal Creek.  Pre-register with leader at dongall39@comcast.net.
