Coyote Wall

This a great spring hike in the Columbia Gorge beginning and ending at the Coyote Wall trailhead.  We will hike clockwise from the trailhead traveling through a mixed forest of conifer, oak and open areas.  The hike generally follows in the forest below the Coyote Wall cliff in a westerly direction  before breaking out to good views of the Columbia River.  We will have lunch here and begin to hike easterly to the beautiful overview of the Coyote Wall and the Columbia Gorge. One of the best views in the gorge.  We then hike downhill back to the trail head.  Early wild flowers including grass widows and prairie stars among others should be in good bloom.  It could be windy so bring something along to wear to block the wind.  Sometimes there are birds to viewed so some field glasses might be a plus.
