Silver Star Mountain via Burgundy Col/Black Peak via South Ridge, M1 -- CANCELLED
DATES: June 1-6
We will make the long drive to the North Cascades worthwhile by climbing both Silver Star Mountain and Black Peak. Both mountains are technically easy but are very strenuous. Participants must be in excellent physical condition, comfortable with glacier travel and exposure on alpine rock.
8,876 ft Silver Star Mountain via Burgundy Col, M1
Silver Star Mountain is a massive peak located about four miles northeast of Washington Pass in the North Cascades. From the pass and road, it appears as a purely rock peak with its formidable west face and the Wine Spires towering above Early Winters Creek. However, hidden from view on the north side of the mountain is one of the largest glaciers on the east side of the Cascades. - SP

8,975 ft Black peak via South Ridge, M1
Black Peak stands on the eastern fringe of North Cascades National Park and is one of the higher, non-volcanic peaks in the Cascades. Located very near the North Cascades Highway (SR 20), it can be climbed in a long strenuous day, but camping opportunities near the base of the peak make this a comfortable weekend climb. -SP
