Metolius River Hike. May 16 2024
Steve Engler |
Published on 5/17/2024
The weather was perfect for a hike along the east and west side of the Metolius River. The hike started to the north from Wizard Falls with lunch at the Lower Bridge Campground, and ended with a quick walk through the fish hatchery. Saw two otters playing, or feeding, in the river and an eagle. We also made a quick stop at the Head of the Metolius observation site to see the river emerge from the ground and a perfect view of a snow covered Mt. Jefferson, at least I think it was Jefferson. Hikers were Sumon Montri, Sue Engler, Nadene LeCheminant, and leader Steve Engler
