Thinking about becoming a Chemeketan?
The Chemeketans accepts members of all ages and abilities. The range of our activities is wide enough to offer something for just about anyone with an interest in outdoor adventures. We encourage you to look through recent Bulletins and to
read reports
from enthusiastic participants to see the types of activities we offer.
We also encourage you to try us out as a guest for one or two activities before joining. You can find our activities listed in the Events Calendar and in the Bulletin. Non-members are welcome on all Chemeketans activities as long as the leader feels that you are qualified to participate. For more information about an activity, contact the leader listed in the calendar or in the Bulletin.

Members and guests are expected to choose activities which match their abilities, wear appropriate footwear, carry the essentials, and practice common trail courtesy. Chemeketans follow the principle of “take nothing but pictures; leave nothing but footprints.” Participants in each outdoor activity must provide an emergency contact number and sign the liability waiver. The trip leader has the final say on who may participate and how the activity will be conducted. Pets, alcohol, drugs, and firearms are not permitted.
Types of membership and dues:
(1) Adult: If you are 18 or older, you are considered an Adult member. Dues are $20 per year.
(2) Junior: If you are under 18, you are considered a Junior member and must be part of a Household membership unless approved otherwise by the Membership Secretary. Dues are $3 per year.
(3) Household: You may sign up yourself and other members of your household as one unit if you would like to pay your annual dues with one check or credit card transaction. Dues for each household member are the same as listed in (1) and (2) above. The designated primary member of the Household will receive a single renewal notification which includes all members of the household. The household will also receive a single copy of most paper mailings except for ballots. Adult household members will each have their own login to the website and can vote; household members under the age of 18 will not have a login and cannot vote.
New memberships for those who join between January 1st and September 30th will extend through the end of the current calendar year. Dues are not prorated except that memberships for those who join on or after October 1st will extend through the end of the next calendar year.

How To Become A Member
Click the Apply Now button below to sign up as a Member. You will receive a welcome email message with instructions for logging in the first time using the username and password you generated in your application. You will be asked to pay your annual fee by credit card after you login, but see below if you prefer to pay by check. Your membership will be activated upon receipt of both your application and payment. Your membership card will be available for download after you login in go into your Profile on the website.
