Thurston Hills

On a cool but invigorating day we hiked the Mossy Maple trail to the summit at Thurston Hills Natural area and had lunch at the communication tower overlook. The rail enthusiasts were thrilled to see the Coast Starlight pass through the valley far below. We had many friendly conversations with the mountain bikers who share the trail going up but have their own trails to fly down. We made a quick McDonald's stop on the way back for treats. Hikers were: Don Vogel, Jason McHuff, and John Huff ldr.
