Bachelor Mountain and Bugaboo Ridge Hike − July 12, 2024

Mady Kimmich | Published on 7/15/2024

Seven hearty souls climbed to Bachelor Peak for a quick look at the whole range of Cascade volcanoes, then we retreated to the shade of a big Douglas Fir for our first lunch. Energy restored, we descended to the Bugaboo junction and went out along the ridge, enjoying the beautiful lush and steep meadows and fine views of the Three Sisters. We stopped to cool off where the Bugaboo trail drops down into the forest, and then we retraced our steps to the Bachelor Trail and down to our cars. This shorter route was perfect for such a hot day. The usual Bugaboo trailhead was closed for logging. Hikers included Steve Gram, Rob Kimmich, Nadene LeCheminant, Dave McKenna, Randy Selig, Roz Shirack, and leader Mady Kimmich.
