Nine of us searched the banks of Rickreall Creek seeking birds and their songs. Our guide, Jim Scott, remembered that he joined the Chemeketans 50 years ago!
Jim and his wife, Jeanette, led our group along the city trail. He taught us how to use our Merlin app to identify birds by their song and call. Jeanette kept a bird list which she will send to the EBird group, tracking birds across the country.
We identified 37 individual birds of 23 different species. Not bad!
We had a great morning of exploring and enjoying old friendships.
