Silver Falls Hike

Despite an "iffy" forecast we were rewarded with a nice dry hike. We started at the new North Falls Viewpoint parking lot. The new viewpoint provides a beautiful view of North Falls. We hiked through the original North Falls parking lot to view Upper North Falls. Then we hiked the Rim Trail to Winter Falls where we hiked into the canyon to join the Canyon Trail. We had a great view of Twin Falls before heading back up the steep slope to the parking lot, completing our hike of about 5.5 miles. We rewarded ourselves with warm drinks by the fireplace at the Silver Falls Lodge. Member hikers included Nancy Rockwell, Martin Doerfler, Sandra Martin, Mary Liepins, guest Linda Hartley and leader Debra Dawes.
