Eight of us met bright and early at the Airport Road State Motor Pool meeting spot. Six members: Ken Ash, Zsa DuBois, Mary Coleman, Margaret Sax, Kuca Torres and leader Georgienne Young with two guests, Jo Moore and Janelle Mark's drove in two cars, departing at 7:00 a.m. and arriving in two hours at the already crowded trailhead parking area above Mosier. The 3.5 mile hike offered a profusion of wildflowers and at the viewpoints were spectacular views of the Columbia Gorge, Mount Hood and Mount St. Helen. We enjoyed our lunches on top of Chatfield Hill while enjoying the scenery and flowers. After the hike one car's occupants enjoyed refreshments in Cascade Locks while the other returned immediately to Salem, arriving by 2:30 p.m.
