Due to the North Falls trailhead closure, we started and ended this loop hike at the Howard Creek trailhead. This made for a different and pleasant change, as we went up Roemer's meadow early in the hike and ended with an easy descent.
After enjoying lunch (and birthday cookies!), we split into two groups, with some returning to the trailhead via Rackett Ridge and the rest continuing on Perimeter and returning via Buck Mountain.
