Thank you for the picture, Chuck. It was great seeing you!

Bryon- It was fun climbing but it certainly brought a new meaning to the phrase, "If you don't like a hand hold, just put it back and grab a different one."

I tried it about 25 years ago and actually took pitons with me. We never placed any because we couldn’t figure out a safe way to get more than 6 feet off the ground. Every somewhat flat spot was covered with moss and thick pine needles that had to be cleaned off. Once clean, all the cracks had blocks of rock that looked like they could be pried off easily with a screw driver.

That was a bold adventure guys!

Congratulations,

Bryon
Kudos to Frosty and Gabe for a bold adventure climb. I’ve seen that spire up close and would much prefer the splashies :)

I was sitting on top of Dome Rock at 11AM today enjoying my sandwich and the extreme serenity with not another sole in sight when I suddenly heard "you're on belay!" in the distance.   On my way out I snap of photo of two daring fellows sitting on the top of Needle rock.  After enjoying a nice Bill Sauer style "spalshy" at the end of my training hike I hear "Hi Chuck" and there are Gabe and Frosty coming out to the trailhead, parked right next to me!  It was great to run into them!

Very cool!
