Crater Lake Summit-Fest Trip Report
Mike Pennington
Hey everyone

Though not an official Chemeketan climb, thought some of you may find this interesting.  Mason Smith and I climbed the 5 hiking peaks at Crater Lake Nat'l Park in a day this past Fri.  To do so, it covers 26 miles and 5700' of climbing.  It was a really cool day out that we'd recommend be it all 5 or shaving 1-2 off.

When I grow up, I want to be like you and Mason!  (ha ha).  Seriously...way to go.  Looks like you had a blast.  :-)

Holy Malarkey and Moses!

Did I just watch Honnold and Caldwell crush the Crater Lake Traverse?
Awesome outing and I'm so glad the foot held out with only tiny flare-ups!
Way to crush a Marathon of Mountains!

Gratefully,

Hey Mike - I think you should spice this up next year and do it "triathlon" mode.  Bicycle between trail heads for the climbs, run to the summits and SWIM out to Wizard Island and bag that one too!

Seriously, you guys are badass - way to go !!

Great idea Jerry!!!  Other than that I despise water and would drown.  LOL!  I'll let you pull that version off.  :)

Mason could swim and tow you in one of these river fishing floats.
