When the Forest Service announced that the Blue Pool would be closed for a week, we opted to grab the autumn sun and explore an almost unknown trail beyond Pamelia Lake. No matter how many times we hike the trail to Pamelia, we marvel at the beauty of the forest and trail. After visiting the rather sorry excuse for a lake, we turned north and then north again on a trail through old growth to the junction of the PCT and the rather awesome canyon of Milk Creek and its fading glacier. We lunched in the sun and autumn leaves and marveled that we hadn't seen a soul all day. Enjoying our day and dreaming of Grizzly Peak next time were: Kuca Torres, Ann Adamcik, Diana Villanova and Mary Coleman, leader.
