Iron Mountain, Cone Peak Loop
About this event
The Iron Mountain trail starts off in thick forest then climbs through hill side meadows. We will have lunch at the observation deck atop the mountain which offers a 360 degree view of the Cascades. We then partially decent to the Cone Peak trail. The Cone Peak trail traverses more thick forest then opens to a saddle between Iron and Cone. The top of Cone Peak is an open meadow but drier than Iron. Both Mountains are known for displays of wildflowers which should still be available in late June. Contact leader for details.
