Team members must be in good physical condition and have basic climb school skills. We will meet at the Mount Thielsen Trailhead/ Sno Park (permit required) on Sunday evening and get to bed early for an alpine start. We will aim to arrive at the summit block around first light, where the leader will set a fixed line to the summit. After reaching the summit, we will rappel the summit block and retrace our steps back to the parking lot. This winter ascent will require crampons, ice axes, pickets and a rope. We may or may not rope up and use pickets on steep sections below the summit block, depending on conditions. Last time we did not need to.
