Snowshoe trip Maxwell Sno-Park

About this event

Maxwell Sno-Park is located in the Santiam winter recreation area, along Highway 22, 60 miles east of Salem.
There are 25 miles of trails but we'll take the routes with minimal elevation gain and snowshoe for about three hours or 3.5 to 4 miles.
We might not be able to sit down for lunch so bring "snackable" items to eat along the way and plenty of water. If you need to rent snowshoes, Salem doesn't have any but Peak Bike & Outdoor in Corvallis might.
The leader has a Sno-Park Permit but additional drivers might have to purchase one in advance.
People coming from Salem could meet at the State Motor Pool parking lot at Airport Rd at 08:40 am and carpool to the Stayton Park & Ride to meet up with the leader at 09:00 am. Keep in mind that this is the day Dayligth Saving Time starts!
Please email or text by noon the day before to sign up.
