Eagle Creek in Columbia River Gorge
About this event
This trail follows Eagle Creek up a narrow, steep gorge. Cascading whitewater, water falls, and American Dippers are abundant. There maybe some spring wildflowers, too. There are some steep drop-offs as the trail skirts around sheer cliffs. Some sections have chains bolted into the cliff as handrails. We will go as far as 4 1/2 mile bridge, turn around, then stop at Tenas campsite along the creek on the way back for lunch. This area was severely burned in 2017, but many large trees remain and the slopes have greened up since then. We may stop in Cascade Locks for pie and coffee or other treats. Limited to 8 hikers.
