About this event
Shellburg Falls State Recreation Area in the Santiam State Forest re-opened May 2024 after it had been closed since the Beachie Creek Fire in September 2020. The trail system has been completely revamped so let's explore some or all of the loops that are now available to be hiked. The trail does not loop behind the 100-foot Shellburg Falls anymore but we can get close for a good view.
The convenient trailhead off of Fern Ridge Road is closed. Driving on 6 miles of gravel roads is now required but they are in good shape and signs point the way.
