Elk Mountain-Kings Mountain traverse loop
About this event
Elk Mountain and Kings Mountain are located in the Coast Range and are a popular hiking spot. The two mountains can be joined together to make one longer loop. This is a challenging hike that includes a downhill section where a rope is attached to assist with the slope. Expect this hike to take at least 6.5 hours to cover 11.4 miles and 3900‘ of elevation gain. See oregonhikers.org for a detailed description and trail directions. We will be going counter-clockwise from Kings Mountain trailhead along Wilson River hwy.

Hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MEDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous
To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
