Cascade Head and Otis Cafe

About this event

We will hike to the summit of Cascade Head and take a short rest to enjoy the view. The hike up traverses a coastal rain forest and an open meadow where sometimes elk can be spotted and usually this time of year wildflowers and rare butterflies.  Warning: the meadow portion of this hike is steep.  Weather permitting , the views are unsurpassed. Afterwards we will go into Lincoln City to visit the new Otis Cafe for lunch.  The Otis cafe was justifiably famous and a regular Chemeketan stop for years until the disastrous fire.  The new cafe may not have the same  (through the kitchen to get to the bathroom) charm but the food is still great.  Contact leader for details.  Be sure to dress for coastal weather.  Bring water and a snack if desired.  Poles would not go amis.
