Sawtooth/Cowhorn Traverse: Full
About this event
Sawtooth/Cowhorn Traverse Scramble Peaks
Unrated: Mostly class 2 with class 3 summit options
Elevation Gain: 3300 ft. Miles: 15.5
These two scramble summits south of Diamond Peak will be accessed from Timpanogas Lake and offer spectacular views of Diamond Peak, the Three Sisters, Crescent Lake and Mt. Thielsen.
This scramble wiłł make a counterclockwise łoop beginning at Timpanogas Lake. We wiłł approach Sawtooth Mountain (7301 ft) from a climbers trail, scrambłe over its crumbły south pinnacle to access its true summit on dinner plates, head toward Cowhorn (7592 ft) via Windy Pass Traił, scrambłe its smałł błocky summit and then continue back to Timpanogas Lake. Climbers must be prepared for a long day and łots of mileage. This scramble occurs the day after Diamond Peak. You do not need to sign up for Diamond Peak. I will take up to a team of 12.
Prospectus coming soon.
The July 13 date is a placeholder date just to get the scramble on the schedule. The route needs to be snow free. As we get closer, the actual date may need to change.
