Rooster Rock/Table Rock Wilderness

About this event

Rooster Rock is on the opposite side of the wilderness from its more famous hike.  The area is not far away as the crow flies, but the drive seems rather long. The road is good gravel, however.
The first mile is a slow slog up a fairly steep path.  We will reach a ridge which will lead us to the big payoff:  Rooster Rock's meadow, alive with yellow daisies and various rock flowers.  An optional scramble up Rooster Rock's promontory gives great views of the Cascades.  After that, we will continue along the ridge through more flower-rich meadows to a viewpoint for lunch.  We return the same way.
Beverages will follow at a Molalla watering hole.
