This backpack will take us into the heart of the Eagle Cap wilderness, sometimes called the "Alps of Oregon." We'll camp overnight at Wallowa Lake before beginning our hike into the Lakes Basin. We'll be limiting our mileage to 7 miles a day with a rest day at Moccasin Lake. The adventurous can choose to climb Eagle Cap as a day hike in lieu of resting. I plan to find lodging for our last night to get cleaned up before the long drive home (about 7 hours each way).
