Clear Lake to Ice Cap Creek Day Use Area

About this event

The hike will start at the Clear Lake day use parking area and hike along Clear Lake, the McKenzie River Trail and Waterfalls Loop Trail (we will see Sahalie and Koosah Falls) ending at the Ice Cap Creek day use area. We then return to Clear Lake with the possibility of a short side trip to take in more of Clear Lakes East side. Limit of 10 hikers. Email the trip leader by Tues, May 12 6PM to sign up. Bring a lunch for the hike and we can have a snack/beverage at the lodge when we are done.

Difficulty: Medium

Pace: Moderate to slow 

Hiking Distance: 7.5 miles RT

Elevation Gain: 500 feet

Driving Distance: 180 miles RT

EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MEDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous

To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
