Talking Waters

About this event

We will hike a short distance down Truax Creek from Waverly Lake in Albany and enter Talking Waters, an industrial waste water treatment series of ponds which have become an urban wildlife sanctuary and local hiking area.  We will then proceed past a reconverted sawmill pond and up at the Willamette River.  We will then depart the river and have lunch at a local tavern before returning to the cars.

Difficulty: Easy

Pace:  Slow

Hiking Distance: 4.5 miles RT

Elevation Gain: 10 feet

Driving Distance: 40 miles RT

Hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MEDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous

To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
