Cape Lookout

About this event

Trail is out and back through dense forests of gnarled old spruce and hemlock trees. Fantastic views! Wear boots. Trail is rough, with mud roots and rocks. Poles are required. Although this trail is classified as medium, some would say trail conditions warrant a difficult designation. Bring a lunch to eat at the cape.

Hiking Distance: 4.8 miles RT

Elevation Gain: 400 feet

Driving Distance: 140 miles RT

EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MEDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous

To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
