Temple Lake-17 Sep 2018
Published on 9/19/2018
When Bobbie told me that Woodpecker Ridge has burned, I found a lake with like mileage and forged ahead. A small group of us headed out on an unknown trail to an unknown lake...and FOUND it! Walking from Camp Pioneer and heading toward Marion Lake, we found our goal a half mile off the trail. Temple Lake has a great campsite and a lake so low that pumping water would be impossible without slogging through mud. It was a pretty lake; however, and the trail itself was lined with autumnal huckleberry bushes in full glory. Enjoying the fall day were Margarita Saxe, Marcia Kenagy and Mary Coleman, leader.
