Maxwell South Shelter Snowshoe, January 26
Published on 1/26/2019
Ten eager snowshoers took a chance on iffy snow conditions and escaped the valley fog for a day in brilliant mountain sunshine. Despite an unusually mild January, the snow was remarkably good all the way up to the Maxwell South Shelter. We enjoyed easy snowshoeing on a wide and clear path, thanks to the recent removal of a heavy number of downed trees in this area by Chemeketan trail maintenance crews. Participants were Brian Lantz, Ann Wulff, Eileen Harder, Mike Buren, Jean Gabriel, Gerda Norman, Debra Dawes, Lee Slattum, Joanna Picchi, and leader Mona Knapp.
