Double Peaks Hike - August 11, 2019
Published on 8/13/2019
What was billed as a hike and dip in one of the many lakes started out in foggy 40 degree weather and never warmed up much. While statistically this would be classified as a moderately difficult hike much of the elevation is gained in a half mile of rudimentary poorly maintained trail. In spite of the less than stellar conditions the hike was enjoyable and a highlight was meeting a number of through hikers on the PCT. Another consideration in planning this hike is the very rough last eight miles of gravel road getting to Olallie lake. Hikers were: Blanca Truneckova, Matt Rieke, Jason McHuff, and John Huff ldr.
