Nine of us took time out from the holiday rush and hiked up Stahlman Point. You could tell these were Chemeketans because they showed up even though it was cloudy and possible rain was in the forecast. Hiking in the sunshine is nice, but the woods take on a whole other character when it’s foggy. The fog seemed to mute the highway noise you occasionally hear on this trail, so we enjoyed a quiet hike up to the old lookout site. We could see about a third of snow-covered Jefferson so we had a bit of a view. We might even have worked off a couple of Christmas cookies! Participants were Martin Doerfler, Mary Coleman, Nadene LeCheminant, Deanna Davis, Rosanna Wilson, Karin Shinn, Gayle Smith and (not pictured) Marcia Kenagy and leader Mary Liepins.
