We kicked off the new year Chemeketan style with a beautiful hike past the waterfalls on the Canyon Trail. The rains held off during our 7.7 mile hike. Water thundered over the falls and bright green moss dripped from the trees. We were fortunate to run into the Chemeketan snowshoe hikers that diverted to Silver Falls that day. Good comradery on a stunning hike that I never tire taking: what an excellent start to the new year!!
