We had a chilly but clear day for hiking. We ran into an issue early when a king tide forced us to take the road to the trailhead rather than walk the beach. Once there we negotiated a muddy and in places slippery trail but all managed to stay upright. The climb up the thumb was not bad and we all made it to the top. Sitting there in the sun with spectacular views was quite pleasant. On the way back we made a brief stop on the knoll then proceeded on the longer wooded trail back to the vehicles. Hikers were: Sylvia DeLacy, Margaret Saxe, Roz Shirack, Tim Taylor, Mary Liepins, Jason McHuff, and John Huff ldr.
