Luckiamute Landing State Natural Area

The Luckiamute Landing State Natural Area is not well known even among locals. Oregon Parks and Recreation partners with the Luckiamute Watershed Council for habitat restoration at Luckiamute Landing. As part of their work, over 300,000 native shrubs and trees have been planted. It's a very pleasant place to walk, and we only saw three other walkers. The area is spotless and litter-free, and now we know why -- two friendly State Parks volunteers were in action! Our congenial group on July 12, 2021 included four soon-to-be members new to Oregon, Jim Wilson, Laurie Walcutt, Kathleen Hynes, and Chris O'Brien; and six members, Martin Doerfler, Bev Hassell, Kathy Patterson, Bruce Patterson, Elly Collier and leader Elizabeth Seibert.
