Blue skies made a rare appearance on the shortest day of the year as a group of Chemeketans and almost-Chemeketans celebrated Solstice by hiking the Perimeter Trail at Silver Falls State Park. Not one hiker was lost to the multitude of streams that gurgled merrily along the trails, and at lunch we were treated to Mary's rendition of Robert Frost's poem, "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening." Welcome to qualifying members Mark Ferguson, Susan Wilson and Elaine Young! Members included Mary Coleman, Katherine Daniels, Martin Doerfler, Beverly Hassell, Diane Highberger, Kathleen Hynes, David Kersenbrock, Sandra Martin, Chris O'Brien, Lisa Ronay, Randy Selig and Susan Watkins. The hike was led by Nadene LeCheminant.
