Washington Park Hike

It was an overcast day with a couple of showers. We started off from the zoo parking lot on the Wildwood Trail for the Pittock Mansion. It was a great relief to cross Burnside on the new foot bridge rather than by foot over this busy four lane highway. The Portland view from Pittock was socked in and we proceeded on to the Audubon avian hospital on Cornell Road. We had lunch there and enjoyed the bookstore and animal exhibits. Return was by the Redwood Trail in the Hoyt Arboretum and we spent a solemn time at the Vietnam Memorial. Participants were Sandra Martin, Ken and Zsa Ash and leader Bill Wylie.
