Silverton Spring Walk-April 23, 2022

Eight walkers had a good "stretch of the legs" on our Silverton exploratory. After a nice walk along Silver Creek we headed up the Olsen Road stairs. 179 steps didn't bother this crowd! We continued up and through "GotRocksHeights" checking the pond for any interesting birds. The group opted to brave DANGER HILL!! for our path back to town. We posed in front of the sign to prove our victory. Still not done, we headed up west hill, where Denise showed us her house in one of Silverton's classic old homes. We used the hospital steps to get back to town. Stopping at Silver Falls Bread, some of us bought a fresh loaf. We finished at the new Silverton Bakery on Water Street where we drank coffee, ripped the bread apart and enjoyed the sunny day. The leader had a good time sharing tidbits about her town. Jim Rastorfer (welcome back), Marcia Kenagy, Mary Liepins, Kelli Vesper (second qualifier), Martin Doerfler, Mary Elliott, Denise Taylor and Mary Coleman, ldr.
