Perfect hiking weather and a congenial, happy group made for lots of chatter and laughter. There was a jaw-dropped display of bear grass in the meadow and abundant wildflowers on all parts of the trail. We shared the summit with two very nice mountain bikers, one of whom does trail maintenance. We didn’t see another person on the almost-five-mile trip down from the summit. Marie Flores completed her first Chemeketan hike and Jacques Thibodeaux his second qualifying hike. They were joined by members Sandra Martin, Elly Collier, Blanka Truneckova, Mary Coleman and leader Elizabeth Seibert.
