Bruno Meadows July 8, 2022

When Bobbie Snead got a new puppy, she asked if I would lead her Bruno Meadow hike. Of course! Where is it? Bobbie set us up with great directions and 6 trusting folks headed into the Old Cascades. We were all very glad we did! We had a stellar day feeling like explorers. We found the trailhead with no problem and found a forest with giant noble firs and blooming rhodies and all the usual forest flowers. When we met up with the Bugaboo trail, we were on familiar ground and enjoyed rock garden after rock garden of flowers of every hue.
Rather than push on to the Bachelor summit, Bobbie suggested we lunch in the beargrass meadows with views of the Sisters.
On the trail up and again returning, we stopped to enjoy a rock outcrop with a face-on view of Mt. Jeff. What a treat.
Very happy with our day were: Nadene LeCheminant, Rochelle Gerratt (visitor), Dan Moung (tree expert), Roz Shirack, Bill Gazeley (first qualifier), and Mary Coleman, ldr.
