For a second summer, Mary Coleman put together a bird walk with Jim Scott on the Rickreall Creek Trail System in Dallas. The weather was perfect, the stream ran clear and clean, and the birds were abundant in a wonderful chorus of sound in the overhead canopy of trees. Swainson's Thrushes were the most impressive with their wondrous melody. Twelve participants identified 20 different species of birds by sight or sound, using binoculars, smartphone apps, and cameras. After-hike coffee was held in the Central Courtyard of the Dallas Retirement Village.
Birders were : Jim and Jeanette Scott, leaders, Rochelle Garratt (visitor), Joyce Bebe, guest, Laverda Gallagher, guest, Jessie and Paul Wilson (first qualifiers), Susan Proffit, Kathy Patterson, Linda Willnow, Bill Geibel, and Mary Coleman, organizer.
