Table Rock-September 4, 2022

Ten lucky hikers had a perfect late summer day to explore the Table Rock Wilderness above Molalla. For half the hikers, this was their first trip to Table Rock. which is always fun. In spite of Labor Day weekend, the trail was not crowded. We were surprised to find numerous large trees across the trail. It seems that BLM does not have trail crews, even for this popular hike. The blowdown didn't cause us much trouble, but Marcia and I agree that the trail is longer and harder than it used to be. What's with that??
On the summit, we found amazingly clear skies with views from Rainier south to South Sister...rare for late summer. Ten snow-capped mountains for lunch!
We used the Dave Carter alternate route for our descent and avoided the rock fall and blowdown. A win!
Relaxing with treats and beverages at the Brewery in Molalla were happy hikers: Marie Flores, Denise Taylor, Evan Leland, Margarita Nunez, Mark Ferguson, Martin Doerfler, Trish Rossitto, Marcia Kenagy, Randy Judson and Mary Coleman, ldr.
