When the original leader of our hike tested positive, Roz asked me to take over the hike. Happily, she had signed up 10 marvelously strong women who were ready for some adventure. In spite of a "bridge under repair" and a tricky intersection, this group of women kept up their enthusiasm.
Several had never been to Clear Lake and the exclamations of amazement gave all of us joy. The vine maple was scarlet and the water that mysterious color blue green Clear Lake is famous for.
After our ice cream bars at the boat dock, we drove to take in the splendor of Sahalie and Koosah Falls on the gushing McKenzie River.
Paying our respects to the ancient firs and cedars along our path were: Randy Selig, Marie Flores, Delmy Edwards, Lisa Reid, Patty Baskin, Peggie Grosh (a very happy first timer), Trish Rossitto, Nadene LeCheminant, Nancy Chambers and Mary Coleman, substitute leader.
