We had a spectacular winter day for our Silverton Walkabout. It was frosty and bright blue as we headed out through the parks and along Silver Creek. The group was undaunted by the 164 steps leading up into "Got Rocks Heights". Using the Chemeketan creed that "only the summit will do", we topped out and headed to the pond to check for ducks. Was that a merganser or a bufflehead?
Brave and fearless, the group opted to descend Danger Hill, living to have their portrait made in front of the sign as proof.
We finished the hike by admiring Bobby the Wonder Dog mural and the shops on Water Street. Snacks and hot beverages were enjoyed in the sunny seating on the Creek at Silverton Bakery. We were a happy bunch.
