Starker Forest & McCulloch Peak - March 28, 2023

First we were to be four, then we were three and then ultimately we were two intrepid hikers who went out on a misty, rainy day to explore some of the Starker Forest and McCulloch Peak in McDonald State Forest. We hiked trail, well graded and mossy old logging roads, and were treated to many shades of green and even walked in snow above about 2000'. It rained a little and was misty but there were sunbreaks and an occasional view. It was great conditioning - around 11 miles give or take, and "peruvian flat" 2500-3000' in elevation gain (and losses) including a 400' gain in .1 mile.
