Seven hikers explored the recently burned Stahlman Point trail on a perfect, sunny day. Where there used to be only glimpses of Detroit Lake on the way up, the burned areas allow many views of it now. We were surprised to find lilies blooming along the new, exposed parts of the trail, because we could not remember seeing them in this area before. The view at the top of both Detroit Lake and Mount Jefferson were spectacular and did not disappoint. Hikers were Sue Engler, Gayle Smith, Joanne Schiedler, Steve Engler, Steve Williams, Eileen Harder and Roz Shirack.
