Hilly West Salem Walk - August 29, 2023

We started out through the non-auto exit from Capital Manor and headed up steep Flying Squirrel -- what a great street name. Our first loop was around the 7-acre Audubon Reserve on Eola. Bruce Patterson is a long-time and weekly volunteer there, so we had a guided tour. A young osprey was on the nest and crying for food and for its parents, who had already flown south. We then made a loop around Myers School and up Burley Hill before returning to Capital Manor. After five miles, we needed coffee and blueberry muffins, provided by Capital Manor. Guest Tracy White joined members Becky Hickox, Kathy and Bruce Patterson, and leader Elizabeth Seibert.
